Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections) — Vale Jean Purser, an extraordinary woman who dedicated 76 years of her life to the Ingleburn RSL Sub-Branch Auxiliary. Jean was wife of the late Douglas Purser, a navy veteran who served in Korea and was instrumental in the Ingleburn RSL Club's expansion. In 1975, Douglas Purser and his Board of Directors purchased six acres of land. The site became the new home for the Ingleburn RSL Club, where it still stands today. Douglas was a Life Member and President of the Ingleburn RSL Club from 1970 to 1999. He was a Life Member and President of the Sub-Branch from 1970 to 1998. Douglas and Jean had a wonderful partnership and raised two sons – Richard and David. Jean led a full life until her death at 97. Jean had an unwavering commitment to our veterans and their families through the Auxiliary and Legacy. Jean grew up in Glenfield. A well-seasoned traveller, Jean made trips to Antarctica and to Alaska where she went dog-sledding in her eighties. My sincere condolences to Jean's family, including her two sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May Jean rest in peace. Lest We Forget.
