Community Recognition Statement

Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields) (13:39): I acknowledge an outstanding constituent in my electorate, Mr Danny Bernal.

Danny's contribution to my community over many decades has been significant.

He has been a Justice of the Peace [JP] since 1986, taking his oath on the day his daughter was born.

For many years Danny has been active in his local JP association and over the years Danny has no doubt helped many thousands of people.

In a recent discussion with Danny I learnt that in his role as a marriage celebrant he has officiated at around 3,500 ceremonies since 1995. That is a lot of "I dos" to witness.

Danny is also heavily involved in and makes a substantial contribution to the Amistad Latina Spanish School.

Danny is a highly respected member of my local community and I am grateful for his friendship.
