Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections) — Macquarie Fields was a community close to the heart of Youth Off The Streets' founder, the late Father Chris Riley AM. In 2005, Macquarie Fields was one of Youth Off The Streets' first outreach programs. In 2011, with the support of the local council and the state and federal governments, Youth Off The Streets built The Koch Centre for Youth and Learning – acknowledging David and Libby Koch's support. After the passing of Father Riley in August, and at David and Libby Koch's suggestion, the centre was renamed 'The Riley Centre for Youth and Learning'. The centre reflects Father Chris Riley's unwavering belief in the potential of every young person, no matter their background or circumstances. Youth Off The Streets has been serving the Macquarie Fields community for 20 years. The Riley Centre is home to the alternative high school, EDEN College, and a weekly youth drop-in program, providing a safe space for young people to grow and thrive. I am delighted that the centre will honour Father Chris Riley's legacy and his vision to help young people reach their full potential.
