Community Recognition Statement

Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields): South West Community Transport [SWCT] continues to lead the way in accessible transport.

The not-for-profit was named Best Specialist Business for 2021 at the Campbelltown Local Business Awards and Disability Services Australia's Employer of the Year 2021. An outstanding achievement.

SWCT operate a fleet of 52 vehicles, including a new wheelchair-accessible vehicle thanks to $50,000 in funding from the Community Building Partnership grants program.

SWCT services the following Local Government Areas: Fairfield, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly. Excitingly, SWCT is expanding into Wingecarribee Shire with the acquisition of Southern Highlands Community Transport.

SWCT's depot is located in Minto, within my electorate. Driving SWCT's growth is Executive Officer Darrin Wilson and his team of 60 paid staff and around 50 volunteers who keep the wheels turning for around 6000 clients.

SWCT helps connect people who are transport disadvantaged including the elderly, the frail and people with disability or mobility issues.

SWCT's service assists people getting to medical appointments, to the local shopping centre and to social activities.

I commend SWCT's commitment to helping our most vulnerable stay connected, retain their independence and stay active.
