Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections)—The Police Citizens Youth Club [PCYC] Campbelltown in Minto is empowering young people to thrive through activities and programs in partnership with the police and the community. GRIT (Growth Intervention for Teens) is an innovative program that incorporates evidence-based strategies aimed at cultivating resilience. Experienced PCYC GRIT facilitators guide teens in a safe and inclusive environment through fun physical exercise, creative arts and experiential learning activities. Students from Macquarie Fields High School have been participating in the program, which helps promote a growth mindset, gratitude and self-care strategies. PCYC Campbelltown also offers gymnastics and boxing, with students from Sackville Street Public School regularly taking up the opportunity to enjoy the gymnastics facilities. PCYC Campbelltown received grant funding through the Community Building Partnership program, enabling the club to enhance its foyer area and install cooling fans in the gymnastics space. I commend club manager Alese Keane for her passion and commitment in helping young people reach their full potential. The club is having a positive impact on our community's youth and continues to offer a safe and engaging space for recreation, social connection, and life-skills.
