Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections)—Local sporting clubs give our communities more than fun and fitness. They foster a strong community spirit and bring people together to help those doing it tough. This was shown by the Minto Cobras Junior Rugby League Football Club at its inaugural Easter Family Fun Day at Benham Oval, Minto in April. The Minto event was hosted in partnership with other community organisations to provide a fun and happy Easter celebration for the whole community at a time when working families are struggling with rising costs of living. The Fun Day in the heart of Minto showcased the heart of Minto – one that beats with enormous community pride. Suburban clubs like the Minto Cobras may not make the big headlines but they make a big impact in our community. I saw this in the many laughs and smiles on the day. I congratulate and thank the Minto Cobras and everyone involved in the Easter Family Fun Day on delivering an amazing community celebration to bring people together.
