Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections)—Faith and culture are important to many in the Macquarie Fields electorate and enrich the community. Our strong Muslim Bangladeshi community gives so much to the local community and helps make south-west Sydney a special place to live. I was pleased to join Campbelltown Councillor Masood Chowdhury in attending the Eid Ul Adha Exhibition hosted by Sydney Bangalee Community Incorporated (SBC Inc) at the Ingleburn Community Centre in anticipation of the Islamic holiday Eid Al-Adha later this month. SBC Inc plays an important role in promoting the Bangla language, culture, and traditions both within and outside the Bangladeshi community. The Exhibition featured various women-run stalls selling traditional Bengali dresses and clothing, jewellery, and other accessories. I commend SBC Inc as well as Selima Begum, Abu Tariq and all others involved for their efforts in organising the event. It is great to see commerce and culture coming together to make our community stronger and richer.
