Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections) — I was delighted to visit Casula High School in my electorate and learn more about its High Potential and Gifted Education [HPGE] program. The program provides rich, challenging learning experiences designed to extend students across all key learning areas. Students engage in a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including inter-school challenges, the Premier's Debating Competition, STEM projects, Talented Sports Program and the MADD (Music, Art, Dance and Drama) performance evening. A strong professional learning focus supports staff to design curriculum enrichment that deepens thinking, stretches capable learners, and embeds high-challenge tasks in everyday practice. The latest school upgrades will provide students with modern learning spaces and access to the latest technology. A refurbished performing arts facility and music room will include a new professional-grade recording studio. A new laser cutting room will give students the opportunity to explore design thinking and digital fabrication. Students will be equipped with skills that are increasingly valuable beyond the classroom and into the future. I commend Principal Scott Belgre, teachers and students for promoting excellence in secondary education.
