Community Recognition Notice

Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields): — Break the Cycle Glenquarie has been at the forefront during lockdown, assisting local families with emergency food relief, non-interest loans and the growing cost of energy bills.

I would like to acknowledge Break the Cycle Glenquarie's efforts during this challenging period and I thank everyone involved for helping those in need.

Since 16 June 2021, Break the Cycle Glenquarie has provided more than 200 food hampers, granted 35 non-interest loans and assisted more than 100 people with energy bills.

This fantastic effort was achieved within tight COVID-19 restrictions and with the centre operating at reduced capacity.

South-West and Western Sydney residents will continue to endure the economic and social costs of the pandemic, which makes Break the Cycle Glenquarie's work extremely important.

The Men's Shed, part of Break the Cycle Glenquarie, closed its doors during lockdown.

I am confident that the Men's Shed will return with even more vigour and that its volunteers will once more enjoy the companionship they have all been craving.

I am honoured to call many of the good people at Break the Cycle Glenquarie friends, and I look forward to visiting again soon to extend our community's sincere gratitude.
