Mr ANOULACK CHANTHIVONG (Macquarie Fields—Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections) — I was delighted to present a NSW Government Local Senior of the Year Award to Ao Sinasina Samoan Senior Citizens Campbelltown – a wonderful group of seniors contributing enormously to our multicultural community. Celebrating family, friendship and faith, the group meets every Thursday at the South West Multicultural and Community Centre in Minto. The not-for-profit organisation is affiliated with the NSW Council for Pacific Communities, under the supervision of Mal Fruean since 2012. Ao Sinasina means 'Blessed, Wisdom and Knowledge', reflecting the values of the organisation in honouring and supporting its elders. The organisation is committed to strengthening community engagement and connection to culture. Weekly activities include recreational games, and creative programs such as lei making and tapa painting. Members have donated gifts to the homeless and to fathers in correctional facilities, as well as contributed food hampers to assist local families in hardship. Ao Sinasina creates meaningful opportunities for seniors to gather, share their wisdom, and pass on their valuable knowledge to future generations. I congratulate everyone involved, and on behalf of our community extend our deepest gratitude. Fa'afetai tele lava.
